Support the ObamaCare Replacement Act, H.R. 1072

On behalf of our activists and the millions of Americans who have been negatively affected as a result of ObamaCare, I urge you to contact your representative and ask him or her to support the ObamaCare Replacement Act, H.R. 1072, introduced by Rep. Mark Sanford (R-S.C.). Last week, FreedomWorks released a letter of support for the Senate version of the ObamaCare Replacement Act, S. 222, introduced by Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), because the bill promotes key aspects of what the health insurance market should look like after ObamaCare is fully repealed.

Key Vote YES on Paul Amendment to the FY 2017 Budget Resolution

On behalf of FreedomWorks’ activist community, I urge you to contact your senators and urge them to vote YES on the amendment offered by Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), S.Amdt.1, to the FY 2017 budget resolution, S.Con.Res 3. The amendment places a freeze on on-budget federal spending in FY 2018 through FY 2026 and brings the budget into balance by FY 2024.

Spending, Debt Levels in ObamaCare Repeal Resolution Send a Terrible Message to Fiscal Conservatives

The Senate didn't waste any time when it convened at the beginning of the 115th Congress. The chamber moved quickly on a motion to proceed on the FY 2017 budget regulation, S.Con.Res. 3, which begins the process of repealing ObamaCare. The resolution directs two Senate committees -- Finance and Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions -- and two House committees -- Ways and Means and Energy and Commerce -- to begin work on repeal legislation through budget reconciliation.

Support the Federal Reserve Transparency Act, S. 16

On behalf of FreedomWorks’ activist community, I urge you to contact your senators and urge them to cosponsor the Federal Reserve Transparency Act, S. 16, introduced by Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.). This important piece of legislation would require a full audit of the Federal Reserve by the Government Accountability Office. FreedomWorks has already released a letter of support for the House version of the Federal Reserve Transparency Act, H.R. 24, introduced by Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.).

Congress Should Pass Balanced Budget with ObamaCare Repeal

Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul recently raised eyebrows when, in a op-ed for Time, he wrote that he would vote against a budget resolution that includes instructions to repeal ObamaCare through reconciliation if it does not balance.

Rand Paul's Audacious Antitrust Proposal

Antitrust law doesn’t get a lot of attention these days. People tend to take for granted that monopolies are bad, and that government needs to intervene in markets to prevent them, as well as any other behavior that could be considered anticompetitive or bad for consumers. Hence, the Federal Trade Commission, the Department of Justice, and various other agencies have been charged with enforcing antitrust laws without any serious scrutiny from the people.

The Libertarian Moment Is Not Over

In August 2014, The New York Times pointed to the rise of Rand Paul as a potential signal that the long-awaited “libertarian moment” had finally arrived. Now that the Kentucky senator has dropped out of the presidential race, we can expect the naysayers to come out of the woodwork, declaring triumphantly that such a moment—if it ever existed—is definitively over. To them, I say, “Not so fast.”

Profiles in Liberty: Dr. Ron Paul

On January 12, the Federal Reserve Transparency Act (S. 2232) is scheduled for a vote in the Senate. Authorizing review by the Governmental Accountability Office of our nation’s monetary policy, the bill was introduced by Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.). But the bill’s final vote is arguably due to the legacy of the Senator’s father, former Rep. Ron Paul (R-Tex.), who championed the causes of sound money and central bank transparency over his 12-term career in Congress. Dr. Paul is the subject of this week’s Profiles in Liberty.
