2009-2010 Legislative Candidate Survey Report

On behalf of the more than 32,000 members of North Carolina FreedomWorks, our 2009-1010 candidate survey was sent to all candidates for the North Carolina legislature.  The original report represented those surveys returned by April 16, 2008.  This updated report includes those received through April 27, 2008.

Questions:

1. During the 2009-2010 legislative session, I pledge that in order to keep the burden of taxation in North Carolina no higher than its present level plus inflation, I will support a Taxpayer Bill of Rights.

2. During the 2009-2010 legislative session, I pledge to support a constitutional amendment on eminent domain in order to protect private property rights in North Carolina.

3. During the 2009-2010 legislative session, I pledge to support legislation to repeal the 1959 Forced Annexation Act.

4. During the 2009-2010 legislative session, I pledge to vote against legislation banning smoking on private property.

5. During the 2009-2010 legislative session, I pledge to support tort reform legislation that will end lawsuit abuse and return our legal system to people with real grievances.

6. During the 2009-2010 legislative session, I pledge to vote to remove the cap on North Carolina’s charter schools.
