FreedomWorks Hosts John Locke Foundation on Land Transfer Taxes

Hayesville, North Carolina.  On August 14th, FreedomWorks and The John Locke Foundation hosted an educational meeting on Clay County Land Transfer Tax.

About 30 Clay County residents came out to hear the details on this  unneeded 200% tax increase.   Chad Adams from the Locke Foundation explained why this is not a stable tax, but rather that it will flucuate with the housing market.

The referendum is on the ballot the Friday before Labor Day. FreedomWorks believes that if the County Commissioners really wanted to know how the citizens felt about building a new school, they would put a bond issue on the ballot in the fall.
