Federal Government's Latest First Amendment Assault Targets College Campuses

Adding to this week's Scandalpalooza is a lesser known, but incredibly disturbing tidbit. According to Legal Insurrection, the federal government mandated speech codes on all college campuses.  Free speech issues on college campuses usually center around student groups' rights to protest, but this latest first amendment assault creates such a subjective vacuum, it renders every college student a potential criminal:

Looks Like Richard Windsor May Have More Imaginary Friends At EPA

Remember Lisa Jackson and her secret email name? It appears that Richard Windsor wasn't alone. I know, you're as shocked as I am that others may have used fake email addresses to avoid FOIA requests.

Dear FreedomWorks member,  As one of our million-plus members nationwide, I urge you to contact your representative and urge him or her to vote YES on H.R. 459, the Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2011. Federal Reserve Documents Reveal Massive Foreign Bank Bailouts

Last week, the American people were finally informed on what the Federal Reserve has done with some of their money behind closed doors. It was revealed that one of the largest recipients of the Fed’s money was foreign banks during the 2008 economic downturn. We can’t say that we’re surprised. The Fed fought tooth and nail to keep these documents secret for a reason.

Welcome 112th Congress—We Must Hold Government Accountable in 2011

Over a century ago, Judge Gideon Tucker first said “no man’s life, liberty or property is safe when the legislature is in session.” Those words still ring true today. As the 112th Congress starts, we should remain watchful but there is some reason for hope. Today, the Constitution was read on the floor of the House for the first time in the history of America. This is encouraging news.

On Friday, Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke gave a speech claiming that the economy is finally headed on the right track. He stated at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City’s annual economic symposium that "despite this recent slowing, however, it is reasonable to expect some pickup in growth in 2011 and in subsequent years."

Ron Paul Introduces SEC Transparency Act

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) whose purpose is to regulate the stock market and prevent corporate abuses has become no stranger to controversy. Recently, a Politico article revealed that top officials at the SEC spent a significant part of their day watching pornography on the taxpayer’s dime.
