Who is the biggest spender for democrats in 2012 apart from the Democratic Party? It’s not a PAC. It’s not a superPAC. It’s the SEIU, which has disclosed donations of nearly $70 million to democrats this year.

Michigan Prop 2 to Extend Union Power

In Michigan, Proposition Two is one of the most buzzed about topics on the ballot. Proposal Two would add the right to collective bargaining to Michigan’s Constitution and is hotly contested in the state. The proposal gives Michiganders “the rights to organize together to form, join, or assist labor organizations, and to bargain collectively with a public or private employer.”

Unions deemed exempt from Identity Theft laws

As one of 22 Right to Work states in America, North Carolina workers are not required to belong to a union in order to keep their jobs. When 33 workers at AT&T exercised this right and resigned their membership in the Communication Workers of America Union in 2007, they were subjected to workplace harassment. The harassment then got worse as these workers had their private information made public.

Card Check on the Ballot in Alabama

Card check is on the ballot this November in Alabama, and it’s putting voters in the middle of an argument between labor unions and management. Identical measures have been passed in Arizona, South Dakota, and Utah, and a similar measure was also passed in South Carolina. This proposed amendment would make secret ballots part of Alabama’s constitution. These workplace elections would be federally monitored for integrity to prevent any tampering by the workplace or the unions.

On July 3, after 17 months of negotiation,  Service Employees International Union (SEIU) healthcare workers walked out of five HealthBridge Management nursing homes. School Choice in Court in Louisiana

In April of this year, Louisiana lawmakers passed two education bills which included enormous progress for school choice in that state. These bills established the largest voucher program in the country, curtailed teacher tenure, expanded charter schools, and tied educator pay and job security to student performance, allowing over 400,000 children new choice in education.

Arizona "Secret Ballot Amendment" Upheld

Workers in Arizona are more free today after a judge upheld the Arizona anti-card check law. The “Secret Ballot Amendment” was adopted by Arizona in 2010 and gave workers the chance to vote on unionization through a private ballot. The alternative is to have workers sign a card in public. With a public vote, the chance of intimidation and coercion by unions is much greater.

Go Idaho! Local Elections Matter

Do you remember filling out your ballot in November 2010?  I most certainly do remember re-electing my Governor, and attempting to unseat my Congresswoman.  But I also remember that there were lots of less known folks up for election, folks like your School Superintendent, or Treasurer, federal and state judges, your police chief, sheriff etc.  And if you are like me, you had no idea how to vote in concern to these smaller posts.  But hopefully like me you went to the internet and tried to determine to the best of your ability where these lesser known candi

Video: Union Protest Outside FreedomWorks HQ

Yesterday, a large group of unions including AFSCME, NEA, SEUI, AFT and ATU protested outside FreedomWorks HQ in DC. We were cussed at and called names. A Jewish member of FreedomWorks staff was called a "bad jew." Here is a video I took of the protest: WARNING: VULGAR LANGUAGE.
