FreedomWorks for America Endorses Alex Mooney in WV-2

FreedomWorks for America announced its endorsement today for Alex Mooney for U.S. Congress in West Virginia’s second congressional district. FreedomWorks for America President Matt Kibbe commented, “Alex Mooney is a champion for liberty who will stand up for the people of West Virginia. He’s pledged to never support any tax increases, will work to stop the EPA’s War on Coal, and is ready to rein in the NSA. The grassroots are eager to see Mooney represent them in Washington.”

What an amazing 3 days with the WV Against Common Core(WVACC) crew & Dr. Sandra Stotsky! We had great turnout on Sunday in Bridgeport, WV. FreedomWorks joined West Virginians Against Common Core to host a town hall forum on Common Core.

After a long weekend of learning how to be a better activist and learning how to continue grassroots movements in their perspective states, patriots from different states in the nation were so passionate about the cause that on Monday afternoon once the training sessions were formally over they took to Capitol Hill to lobby. The activists were led through the senate buildings by some staffers and interns from FreedomWorks and given information and talking points about the Utility MACT and S.J. Res. 37.

Stop Big Government in West Virginia

West Virginia is facing two threats from big government at the state and federal levels: new greenhouse gas regulations from the EPA and a new cigarette tax hike from Charleston. Both are bad fiscal policy. Both would raise costs and harm businesses. Both need to be stopped.

Charleston, WV Cap and Trade Protest on July 19

Join the WV Metro Valley Patriots Tea Party on Monday, July 19 for a demonstration against cap and trade in front of the Charleston WV Unemployment Office at noon.  This demonstration will drive home the message that cap and tax is a jobs killer for West Virginia and comes in advance of an expected Senate energy bill vote in the next weeks.
