Congress Should Pass Balanced Budget with ObamaCare Repeal

Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul recently raised eyebrows when, in a op-ed for Time, he wrote that he would vote against a budget resolution that includes instructions to repeal ObamaCare through reconciliation if it does not balance.

Restoring the Separation of Powers Through Congressional Action, Reversing Executive Orders and Regulations

While the 115th Congress begins on January 3 at noon, President Barack Obama will continue to serve in the White House until January 20, when President-elect Donald Trump takes office. The first 100 days of the incoming administration are expected to be incredibly busy. Obviously, the repeal of ObamaCare is at the top of the congressional to-do list, and action to begin this effort is expected to be immediate. Reining in the regulatory state is another item on which action is projected to be swift.

How the Clean Power Plan Hurts States Represented by Democratic Senators

One of President Barack Obama's most controversial regulations is getting a lot of attention after President-elect Donald Trump nominated Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt to serve as administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The Clean Power Plan (CPP), under the purported authority of the Clean Air Act, requires states to develop plans to reduce emissions by 32 percent below 2005 levels. If a state fails to adopt a plan, the EPA creates one for it. The rule will supposedly avert 0.015°F by 2100 of future temperature increases.

The Right Way to Spend on Infrastructure

Back in early 2015 oil and gas company Conoco-Phillips requested a permit from the Obama administration to launch an oil drilling project in Alaska. The energy project, called the Greater Moose’s Tooth Development, is located within the National Petroleum Reserve and would create thousands of jobs in an economically depressed area of the state. The project has the full approval of the local community, and poses little threat to the environment in a sparsely populated region.

The Radical Environmentalist Left's Smear Campaign Against Scott Pruitt

So-called “progressives” and the radical environmentalist left are attacking Scott Pruitt, President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee to lead the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), throwing out a number of myths and, in some cases, outright falsehoods about the Oklahoma attorney general’s record. Our policy team at FreedomWorks took a look at some of the claims to set the record straight.

The Case for Scott Pruitt to Serve as EPA Administrator

Last week, President-elect Trump tapped Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt to head the Environmental Protection Agency. In the past, Pruitt has sued the EPA, so it’s understandable that a quick analysis of the situation has left many people wary of this cabinet pick. Nonetheless, a closer investigation reveals that Pruitt is one of Trump’s best cabinet picks yet.
