EPA attacks on the States

Under a new plan from the Environment Protection Agency, States could face up to $90 billion in costs. The new EPA National Health Based Standards for Ozone would take the current levels of 75 Parts Per Billion (PPB) of Ozone and lower it to a level of 60 to 70 PPB. By increasing the strict level of PPB numerous new counties would faces fines for not being up to code. As many as 650 counties from across the United States would face these fines if the new laws are enacted. To put that into perspective roughly 21% of the counties nation-wide would not be up to code.

Beware of The Gang of Six

Democracy and Power 108: Obfuscation Wherever politics intrudes upon economic life, political success is readily attained by saying what people like to hear rather than what is demonstrably true. Instead of safeguarding truth and honesty, the state then tends to become a major source of insincerity and mendacity. – Hans F. Sennholz

Key Vote NO on Speaker Boehner's Revised Debt Ceiling Plan

Dear FreedomWorks member, As one of our million-plus FreedomWorks members nationwide, I urge you to contact your Representative and ask him or her to vote NO on Speaker Boehner’s revised debt ceiling plan. While we applaud House leadership for passing the Cut, Cap and Balance Act last week, we do not support Speaker Boehner’s new compromise, which violates the Cut, Cap and Balance Pledge because it neither cuts nor caps nor balances federal spending.

Principles over Compromises: Oppose Speaker Boehner’s Debt-Ceiling Plan

With the Obama administration’s phony debt-limit deadline just five days away, all eyes remain fixed on the ongoing debate in Washington. Per usual, nearly all members of the party in power support raising the debt ceiling with no strings attached while most in the minority party do not. The debt ceiling has been raised ten times in just the past decade with both parties playing political games.

The Power of Reid, McConnell, Boehner, and Pelosi

Power and Democracy 111:  Committees and Chairmen In order to get power and retain it, it is necessary to love power; but love of power is not connected with goodness but with qualities that are the opposite of goodness, such as pride, cunning, and cruelty. – Leo Tolstoy
