EPA Vote Expected as Early as Today

President Obama gave a speech on energy yesterday which included platitudes decrying the use of “gimmicks” and “slogans” such as “drill, baby, drill” when discussing further progress in domestic energy exploration.   However, conspicuously located in the background of the President’s presentation was the highly non-gimmicky “winning the future”, which has been the slogan for increased taxpayer subsidies for highly inefficient wind and solar power.

Bag Statism

Busy-body statists and nanny- state meddlers are constantly concocting short sighted schemes to take choices and liberties out of the hands of individuals. The ideas and utopian schemes of these elites are believed to be on a higher moral and intellectual plane than is possibly comprehended by the incompetent masses.  They profoundly believe that collective decision making is superior to individual choice and liberty.

Dear FreedomWorks member, As one of our one million-plus members who support free markets, I urge you to contact your representative and ask him or her to support several bills to amend ObamaCare. The new health care law provided billions of dollars in mandatory spending for numerous new programs. This funding procedure ultimately reduces congressional oversight by shifting power to the Executive Branch. All of the following five bills would increase congressional responsibility and oversight by converting ObamaCare’s mandatory spending to discretionary spending:

The Federal Reserve Must Be Audited!

Since the Federal Reserve opened its doors in 1914, it has never been audited. It remains the most secret and least accountable operation of the federal government. Our dollar has lost 97 percent of its value since its creation. Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) and Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) have both introduced the Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2011. The Federal Reserve Transparency Act would eliminate the current audit restrictions placed on the Government Accountability Office (GAO) and require a full and thorough audit of the Federal Reserve.

Dems Credibility Gap

Repeated failure can have the tendency to dampen the spirit and one's ego adjusts accordingly.  Conversely, a defiant Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid declared, “For the sake of our economy, it’s time for mainstream Republicans to stand up to the Tea Party and rejoin Democrats at the table to negotiate a responsible solution that cuts spending while protecting jobs.”
