Phony Sequester Consequences Continued: White House Tours

In an article released yesterday, I demonstrated the absurdity of the White House’s claims regarding the impact of sequestration on lines at the airport. Today, I continue this analysis by examining the budget for the United States Secret Service.

Rand's Stand is Why We Fight

I was bursting with pride yesterday as I watched our champions of liberty filibuster on the Senate floor. It's unimaginable that in America such measures have to be taken to ensure that American citizens won't be blown up at their local cafe because an unelected bureaucrat decided they might be a terrorist, but it is the country we live in currently. I was tweeting with my head held high, supporting Rand Paul all the way. I drove home from work feeling rejuvenated, basking in the hope of liberty’s preservation emanating from Rand Paul’s filibuster. However my elation was short lived.

Stand with Rand Paul Against Domestic Drone Strikes

Senator Rand Paul showed a great amount of courage when he filibustered John Brennan’s appointment for CIA director on the Senate floor yesterday, following the Obama administration’s refusal to answer whether or not it is constitutional for the government to kill U.S. citizens on U.S. soil with drones. The answer should be simple: no. It is a blatant violation of the Constitution and it stands against everything this country was founded on for the government to kill any citizen without a trial or due process.

FreedomWorks “Stands with Rand” Paul’s Senate Filibuster

Washington, DC- FreedomWorks President Matt Kibbe released the following statement in support of Senator Rand Paul’s filibuster of John Brennan’s appointment to CIA Director, following Brennan’s refusal to answer a fundamental civil liberties question regarding the use of drones on US soil during his testimony on February 7th: “The question to the White House is simple: Does President Obama believe that he has the authority to assassinate American citizens on U.S. soil without charge or trial? This is a basic civil liberties issue.”

Despite Rhetoric, FAA Can Handle More Flights With Less Money

Of the extensive parade of horribles the White House has been insisting will occur as a result of the sequestration cuts in early March, impediments to Americans’ ability to travel are among the most ridiculous.

Key Vote: See How Your Representative Voted on the Continuing Resolution Here!

Today the House of Representative voted to pass a $1.126 trillion Continuing Resolution (CR) without any extended debate and without allowing any amendments to be offered. This was a tremendous abrogation of regular order in the budget process which has been repeated multiple times over the years, and a sign that the leadership in Congress remains unconcerned about the tremendous deficit spending that has lead to our astonishing $16.6 trillion in debt.

Key Vote NO on the Continuing Resolution, H.R. 933

Dear FreedomWorks member, As one of our millions of FreedomWorks members nationwide, I urge you to contact your Representative and urge him or her to vote NO on the Continuing Resolution, H.R. 933. Because the U.S. Senate has refused to pass a budget since 2009, the government has been funded through a series of Continuing Resolutions (CRs), which just continue spending at the levels approved under the last actual budget. Including “emergency” spending, this CR will still spend $1.126 trillion in 2013 even including the sequester “cuts”.
