No, Congress Is Not Exempt From Obamacare

[Note: This article was written before the July 2013 announcement by President Obama's Office of Personnel Management (OPM), that it would allow Members of Congress and their staff to keep their workplace health insurance subsidies despite having to obtain their coverage in a government health exchange. This special treatment is enjoyed by no other class of Americans. With the OPM announcement, Congress became effectively exempted from ObamaCare. -- Dean Clancy, FreedomWorks]A carefully crafted story in Politico caused a stir this week by claiming that congressional leaders were in talks to exempt staffers from the effects of Obamacare. It isn't true. Will Politico print a retraction? Congress ‘Fixes’ Airport Delays by Increasing Deficit

When the White House launched their sequestration scare campaign earlier this year, one of the most hyped consequences was its effect on air travel.Since so many other warnings never were realized, the Obama administration made good on threats last week by ordering 14,750 air traffic controllers on furlough two days a month. As a result, major airports saw flight delays of up to 80 minutes. Granted, some of these effects can be blamed on the weather, but the Beltway’s media message is clear: sequestration is the end of life as we know it.

DC Autonomy: Is it Constitutional?

There is a move afoot in Washington DC to give the city autonomy of over its finances. While this may sound good on the surface, there are unintendend consequences, and it may not be constitutional. As a federal district, the District of Columbia is funded solely by federal tax dollars.Dean Clancy, FreedomWorks Vice President, says,
