Tangled in the “Grapevine”: Obama caught campaigning on misinformation?

President Obama stopped in Annandale, Virginia this week to hold a town hall meeting with students and staff at Northern Virginia Community College.  He made some particularly interesting remarks in an attempt to connect the coal industry to the disease asthma.  In an attempt to defend greater regulation of coal based electric power production, the president claimed that coal emissions can cause the disease asthma.  This is simply not true as the actual cause of the disease is unknown.

Video: EPA Wasting Taxpayer Dollars

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has launched a new proselytizing tool aimed at convincing the youth of the importance of its regulations aimed at stifling global warming or climate change.  What an efficient use of taxpayer dollars as nothing will energize the youth of today more than mediocre (at best) 1980’s style enviro-rap (via Washington Times):

General Electric is 'Winning the Future'

General Electric reported that its first-quarter earnings have increased by 77 percent compared to the fourth-quarter of 2010.  This comes as the New York Times reported that GE paid zilch on their taxes, while raking in over $14 billion in profits in 2010.  Even worse, GE actually received $3.2 billion in tax benefits.

Join Our Conference Call Tonight!

Recently, we released a survey of 1,001 likely voters in fourteen battleground states that validates everything the Tea Party Movement has been doing across America. In the survey, American voters said that they want their elected officials to take bold steps to decrease the federal budget deficit and debt, and they won't accept any excuses for failing to do so. Likely voters overwhelmingly support balancing the budget within 10 years and taking immediate action to address the impending entitlement crisis while opposing plans to raise the nation's debt ceiling.

Meet the New Boss, Same As the Old Boss

"I'll tip my hat to the new constitution Take a bow for the new revolution Smile and grin at the change all around Pick up my guitar and play Just like yesterday Then I'll get on my knees and pray We don't get fooled again Don't get fooled again No, no!, Meet the new boss Same as the old boss" - The Who, "We Won't Get Fooled Again"What The Who lament here is that despite how things change, they always stay the same. With politics and power, nothing rings more true.

America's Falling Credit Ratings Go Hand-in-Hand with the Unseriousness of President’s Proposal

This administration has set another landmark: For the first time, America’s bond rating has fallen from standard to negative and the country may lose its Standard & Poor’s AAA rating. This development comes at a time when the White House is busy trying to prove that it is serious about addressing the deficit but pushing an unserious proposal.

Supreme Court Hints that Greenhouse Gas Case Will Be Dismissed

Washington, DC- Today, the Supreme Court heard oral arguments in American Electric Power v. Connecticut, a lawsuit initiated by states suing power companies for emitting greenhouse gases.  The states contend these emissions are a public health hazard and the courts should allow nuisance suits to mitigate such harms. The court, however, seemed skeptical of such arguments, pointing to both the unwieldy nature of such suits and the fact that the Environmental Protection Agency is more aptly suited to address any such concerns.

Obama and the BureaucraziesPart 2Health and Human Services and Styrene In late 2009, recently inaugurated President Obama stayed in campaign mode, making trips across the country to promote his $800 billion plus economic stimulus package.  The president made one town in particular his ground zero for the economic recovery: Elkhart, Indiana.  At the time, Elkhart had the nation’s highest unemployment rate, in the neighborhood of 15 percent.  Obama visited the town to make a major speech on the stimulus bill and continued to reference the dire situation the
