1 Year Later: Obama's Approval Rating Plummeting

On January 20, 2009, President Obama spoke of hope and change as he was sworn into office with a 64% approval rating.  Today, exactly one year later, Obama’s approval rate continues to nose-dive as more Americans lose hope in his big-spending agendas.

Scott Brown Wins Massachusetts Senate Seat

Last night Republican Scott Brown beat Democrat Martha Coakley for the late Ted Kennedy’s open Senate seat by 5 points, exceeding all expectations and causing quite a stir not only among the Tea Party movement, but on Capitol Hill. This is the first time since 1972 that a Republican has taken a Massachusetts Senate seat, and the late surge of support was highly unexpected.

FreedomWorks activists get out the vote in Massachusetts

Today, I joined local FreedomWorks activists who battled the harsh Massachusetts winter and took to the streets of Worcester in an effort to educate voters and encourage turnout in tomorrow's special election.  The contest is between State Attorney General Martha Coakley (D-Mass) and State Senator Scott Brown (R-Mass).  The winner will become Massachusetts' next Senator.

Virginia 10th Amendment Rally Draws 2,400 to the Capitol Grounds

Yesterday, I joined a record-breaking Lobby Day crowd of Virginians at the steps of the bell tower on Richmond's Capitol Grounds. I had the privilege to be one of the speakers who addressed the gathering on topics like the Tenth Amendment and its fundamental importance in our American system of divided sovereignty. They didn't need the lesson.

FreedomWorks Joins Free Market Coalition to Oppose New Net Neutrality Regulations

FreedomWorks has joined efforts with the Competitive Enterprise Institute, the Discovery Institute, the Heartland Institute, and the Heritage Foundation to file comments opposing the FCC's proposed rules to create new regulations on the internet in the name of net neutrality.    With these joint comments the coalition wishes to express grave concern about the proposed rules, which we believe are unnecessary and may actually harm both the Internet and consumers.

Democrats Reach Deal To Tax "Cadillac" Health Care Plans

Over the past few days, Obama has held extensive close-door meetings with democratic leaders to discuss how to pay for his massive health care plan. Politico reports that:Those involved in the talks sought to keep details of their progress under wraps. The negotiations delved into the Senate’s controversial tax on expensive insurance plans, which unions and House members strongly oppose, and, for a while Wednesday, labor leaders huddled privately with top administration aides.
