Today, the Labor Department reported that 36,000 net jobs were lost in the month of February. In comparison, the number of job losses grew from January’s reported 26,000 net job losses. Construction was the hardest hit industry cutting an estimated 64,000 jobs last month.
Last week state legislators in New Mexico failed to pass an operating budget for fiscal year 2011 so they are now in a special session to get one passed. Thankfully, limited government advocates have been able to hold the line on higher taxes and are refusing to burden the working families of New Mexico further.
