FreedomWorks Attends Health Care Reform Press Conference

WASHINGTON, D.C. On Tuesday, July 17, FreedomWorks President Matt Kibbe joined Rep. Mike Pence, representatives from the American for Tax Reform, the National Taxpayers Union, and other free market groups to organize and launch the effort to stop socialized health care. Kibbe stated that the federal government is already the largest buyer and seller of health care in the United States. This, he said, is why the solution is less government in a free market approach to health care, not total government ownership and control.

The creepiest non-issue yet

Republican Presidential Candidates Rudy Giuliani and Mitt Romney have been arguing about sex education for kindergarten-aged children. And here: http://abcnews.go.com/print?id=3395856 Excuse me? Social Security won't be around when these children are 30, let alone 65. Socialized health care threatens their future choice, health, and well being. Government spending is out of control. Government policy threatens to dr

Key Vote 'NO' on HR 3043, the Labor/HHS Appropriations Bill

On behalf of more than 800,000 FreedomWorks members nationwide, I write to urge you to VOTE NO on H.R. 3043, the Labor/HHS Appropriations Bill. This $607 billion spending bill will end up costing $152 billion in 2008 thus exceeding the president’s budget by more than $10 billion. In addition, it would spend $7 billion more than the current levels and more than $2.3 billion more than the Senate version.

America's Looming Fiscal Crisis

Social Security and Medicare are rapidly going broke. That’s not my opinion. It’s the expert opinions of the Board of Trustees of Social Security and Medicare, the Comptroller General of the United States and chairman of the Federal Reserve of the United States. This is an issue that is not being talked about by the presidential candidates as much as it should be.

Presidential Candidates Flat Tax vs. Fair Tax

Today Senator and Presidential Candidate Sam Brownback has written an editorial supporting what he calls an "optional flat tax". It would have a huge standard deduction of $20,000 for individuals and $40,000 for families and the rate would only be 15-20%.

Broadband Triple Threat

This piece was originally published at the National Review Online. In 2004, President Bush declared that “all Americans should have affordable access to broadband technology by 2007,” and that his administration “is working to create an environment to foster broadband deployment.”  Unfortunately, the policy prescriptions of certain agencies and the policy inaction of Congress put this goal at risk.
