I Used It, It Worked!

BY Merrick

I was skeptical at first, but then I tried it and my mind was blown! I started calling my friends, neighbors, family, and couldn't stop.

Privatize the TSA

As the holiday travel season draws to a close, many people are getting their second yearly hand of love from the Transportation Security Administration. A better solution to air travel security is to privatize the TSA. Let each airline and airport decide, and fund, its own security.

Wyden's Plan For Revenue Generation from O & C Lands Fails To Solve The Fundamental Problem

On November 26, Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) released his plan to generate tax revenue from Oregon and California lands currently under control of the federal Bureau of Land Management. The plan has met with mixed reviews. Counties in Oregon that are desperate to replace lost tax revenue from timber jobs are crossing their fingers, hoping this is their long sought solution. Environmentalists are predictably frothing at the mouth. But the solution proffered only serves to expose the problem in more stark relief: the fact that any of these lands are under federal control is the real problem.

2013 Year In Review

Every year since college, my best friend Dan and I have submitted our best observations on a wide range of topics that reflect on the year that has just expired. We follow the well established template of The McLaughlin Group program. Here are my reflections on 2013:BIGGEST WINNER OF THE YEAR: I can't even think of one, as 2013 has seen so many failures that have hurt so many Americans. The only one I can think of is David Ortiz of the Red Sox, who emphatically reclaimed the City of Boston for Bostonians.

See How Your Senators Voted on the Ryan/Murray Budget Deal Here!

The Senate voted today to end debate on the budget deal reached by Congressman Paul Ryan (R-WI) and Senator Patty Murray (D-WA). This tax-and-spend deal blows the top off of the budget caps set back in 2011, and raises taxes (or, if you prefer, fees), while claiming to reduce the deficit over ten years with mostly phony cuts that will likely never materialize. With the cloture vote passed, the Democrats can now pass this deal with a simple majority.

Why We Oppose the Ryan-Murray Budget Deal

The Senate is set to vote on the fiscally irresponsible budget negotiated by Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) and Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA) soon. FreedomWorks has issued a key vote notice declaring that we will deduct the scores of any member of Congress who votes for it on our congressional scorecard. As you may imagine, this news hasn’t thrilled the Washington establishment.
