EPA Official Posing as CIA Spy Costs Taxpayers Nearly $1 million

Today on the FreedomCast, reporter from the Washington Free Beacon, CJ Ciaramella is here. We'll talk about an EPA official who cost taxpayers nearly $1 pretending to be a CIA spy, the administration's continued efforts to stonewall Congress on the investigation into former EPA administrator Lisa Jackson and why Big Corn is pushing back against an investigation by the Associated Press.   Related Links:

Democrats Own Obamacare

Thanks to the high-profile efforts of Senators Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, and others, including the House majority, there is a stark contrast between the two major parties regarding Obamacare. One party is all-in for it, the other is indelibly etched in the public mind totally opposing it. Republicans would be foolish to change that, but even as Obamacare implodes, that's just what some are calling on them to do.

Establishment GOP vs Grassroots: Civil War or Growing Pains?

Because I am a nice guy and don't want anyone to waste their time, here is a quick list of those who won't enjoy this post: 1) People working for Mitch McConnell's reelection.2) People who come from families that internalize everything rather than fight it out and get it over with. 3) People who are Mitch McConnell.

Budget & Spending

The national debt and the unrestrained growth of government spending are among the greatest threats to our nation’s future. Each year, the federal government spends more and more of your dollars on corporate handouts, pork-barrel projects, welfare programs and out of control entitlements. Unless something is done, interest payments on the debt alone will consume the entire budget by the year 2050. Taxpayers can no longer afford this. We need to cut spending and balance the budget before it’s too late.

CGI - Which Brought You Healthcare.gov, Also In Charge of Nearly $2 Billion in Sandy Relief

Perhaps we have a little better understanding of why victims of Hurricane Sandy haven't seen much of the $60 billion relief package approved by Congress.

Taxpayers Lose on Shallow Loss Entitlement

This week, I decided to research the Farm Bill to write a little bit about some of the “reforms” House Republicans who support the bill are so proud of. The CBO estimates savings of $35 billion over the next ten years (vs. the current baseline). The CBO is also notorious for underestimating costs, and it looks like this time won’t be any different.

The Reality of America's Finances

When Washington raised the debt ceiling this week, the Beltway media breathlessly reported that the fiscal crisis had ended. Lawyers danced in hallways, bureaucrats twerked on the Metro, congressional aides kissed strangers in the streets — the Tea Party has been defeated! It was like VJ day for wonks.
