The Bluffton Tea Party and FreedomWorks - Allies in the Fight for Freedom

Since 2009, hundreds of Tea Party groups have formed throughout the nation to lead the fight to bring back limited, constitutional government, fiscal responsibility, and free markets. FreedomWorks has been an essential voice in this movement and on March 13, 2012, FreedomWorks North Carolina Grassroots Coordinator Joyce Krawiec took a trip down to Bluffton, South Carolina to speak to the Bluffton Tea Party.

FreedomWorks joins the Leadership Institute for an online webinar on precinct organizing

I joined my friends at the Leadership Institute a few days ago to do an online webinar for folks wanting to become precinct captains in their own neighborhoods. Border Security

Getting control of our border requires an economic solution.

The Issue

Large-scale illegal border crossings-- the vast majority for economic reasons-- are compromising the security of America's borders.

The FreedomWorks Position

A combined approach of a temporary worker and border security program is the obvious way forward for Congress and America. Proposals like the plan offered by Rep. Mike Pence (R-Indiana) recognize that we will not be able to effectively secure our borders unless we also address economic realities.

DICK ARMEY ON ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS: "BLESS THEIR HEARTS"

At last fall's Reason in DC conference (October 26-27), former House Majority Leader Dick Armey (R-Texas) talked about how champions of free markets should focus on the need for smaller and better government.

In this excerpt from his talk, Armey, now the head of Freedomworks, a nonprofit that promotes "lower taxes, less government, more freedom," takes a bold stand for one of the most pilloried populations in these United States: Illegal immigrants who come here to make a better life for their children and themselves.

More Immigrants = Lower Taxes

The Congressional Budget Office did a big favor to pro-immigration forces this week by announcing that the Senate bill would have actually generated more tax payments for the federal government than it would have cost. The bill would have been a net $5 billion revenue raiser over the next decade.

Armey Slams Conservatives on Guest Worker Plan

As the No. 2 man in the Republican-controlled House for nearly eight years, then-U.S. Rep. Dick Armey of Texas never hesitated to assail Democrats.

But three years after leaving Congress, the former House majority leader is now savaging conservatives in his own party for what he calls “knee-jerk” opposition — “emphasis on jerk” — to the Bush administration’s efforts to create a temporary guest worker program and overhaul the immigration system.
