The Establishment Wants Us To Fall In Line

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker appeared on Fox News' Huckabee show to explain that Republicans shouldn't challenge incumbents in primaries until their party controls Congress. Incumbent job security generates voter apathy, and leads to the kind of government we see in our country today. Primary challenges are a way of letting elected officials know that they still have people to answer to, and challenges should be welcome in every election cycle.

Oregon Supreme Court Helps SEIU Oppose Right To Work

Earlier this year, a ballot initiative was filed in Oregon to place a measure on the 2014 ballot to allow public sector union members to opt out of mandatory deduction of dues from their paychecks.

Letter of Support for the Employee Rights Act, H.R. 3485

As one of our millions of FreedomWorks members nationwide, I urge you to contact your Representative today and urge him or her to support H.R. 3485, the “Employee Rights Act.” Introduced by Congressman Tom Price (R-GA), this bill would enable American workers to freely exercise their rights in the workplace by maintaining the right to a secret ballot, allowing workers to see their paychecks used as they intend, and making union membership the free choice of an individual employee rather than a mandate.

National Employee Freedom Week Seeks to Help Workers Break Away from Big Labor

This week a number of liberty-minded organizations, including FreedomWorks, are working to inform workers in non-Right-to-Work states that there are options which can free them of their liberal union bosses.

Workplace Freedom: Union Membership Is Up to You

The left constantly proclaims its pro-choice bona fides, but only in one very specific area. Should you be able to choose your own light bulb, elementary school, health insurance or soft drink? All of a sudden liberals don’t appreciate choice so much. One of the left’s many anti-choice positions is their furious resistance to “right-to-work” laws. As with so many other basic liberties, most liberals don’t trust American workers with workplace freedom — the decision to join, or not to join, a labor union.

Lansing the Boil

My family has deep roots in Michigan, from the frigid locks of Sault Ste. Marie to the college-town ambience of Kalamazoo. But ultimately, my parents left Michigan and eventually the Midwest in search of jobs. Jobs found in the “right-to-work” state of Arizona.

Workplace Freedom and the Talking Point Machine

Police in Michigan turned aside oganized labor violence on Thursday as opponents of workplace freedom tried in vain to intimidate lawmakers in their workplace. The Michigan Senate passed Right To Work legislation, which goes to the House for a vote on Tuesday.Ironically, the agents of forced unionization claim that Right To Work (RTW) laws endanger employee safety.   RTW laws, which defend the right to be secure in a job without being forced to pay union dues, do not affect employee safety. The kinds of work people do in the states that happen to have chosen workplace freedom allow unscrupulous people to offer misleading statistics.

Card Check on the Ballot in Alabama

Card check is on the ballot this November in Alabama, and it’s putting voters in the middle of an argument between labor unions and management. Identical measures have been passed in Arizona, South Dakota, and Utah, and a similar measure was also passed in South Carolina. This proposed amendment would make secret ballots part of Alabama’s constitution. These workplace elections would be federally monitored for integrity to prevent any tampering by the workplace or the unions.

Arizona "Secret Ballot Amendment" Upheld

Workers in Arizona are more free today after a judge upheld the Arizona anti-card check law. The “Secret Ballot Amendment” was adopted by Arizona in 2010 and gave workers the chance to vote on unionization through a private ballot. The alternative is to have workers sign a card in public. With a public vote, the chance of intimidation and coercion by unions is much greater.

The Bluffton Tea Party and FreedomWorks - Allies in the Fight for Freedom

Since 2009, hundreds of Tea Party groups have formed throughout the nation to lead the fight to bring back limited, constitutional government, fiscal responsibility, and free markets. FreedomWorks has been an essential voice in this movement and on March 13, 2012, FreedomWorks North Carolina Grassroots Coordinator Joyce Krawiec took a trip down to Bluffton, South Carolina to speak to the Bluffton Tea Party.
