Specter to Vote Against Card Check

It looks like Senator Arlen Specter (R-PA) plans on voting against both cloture and passage of Card Check:Senator Specter's Office has confirmed to ATR that he will vote against both cloture and passage on the Employee Free Choice Act (also known as "card check" or the employee NO choice act).  His vote is critical and this a major victory for freedom, as well as a stunning defeat for the other side.H/T Americans for Tax Reform Blog

Key Vote "No" S. 2123: the Public Safety Employer-Employee Cooperation Act of 2007

On behalf of hundreds of thousands of FreedomWorks members nationwide, I urge you to vote “No” on S. 2123: the Public Safety Employer-Employee Cooperation Act of 2007.  Rather than upholding the rights of states and municipalities to enact their own laws as the situation warrants, this legislation preempts the authority of local government by forcing them to negotiate with labor unions representing public safety officers over the terms and conditions of employment.

Big Labor Pushes for Big Payback

BY Amanda Carpenter

Big Labor bussed thousands of activists to Capitol Hill Tuesday to lobby for the Employee Free Choice Act—an act union leaders have called their top legislative priority for the 110th Congress. Event organizers claimed they brought 2,000 participants on 62 busses from the Campaign for America’s Future’s “Take Back America” conference to the Upper Senate Park. There, a parade of Democratic congressmen and senators delivered hard-line progressive rhetoric to their pro-union advocates.

FreedomWorks Counter-Protests Massive Union Rally

The unions want to be able to intimidate workers into joining, but FreedomWorks is standing tall for workers' rights. America needs to preserve the secret ballot in union elections. The “Employee Free Choice Act of 2007″, which would actually reduce the choices available to workers, has passed the House and will be voted on in the Senate this week.

FreedomWorks Key Votes "No" on Card Check Bill, S. 1041

On behalf of more than 800,000 FreedomWorks members nationwide, I respectfully urge you to VOTE NO on S. 1041, the “Card Check” bill. Instead of addressing fundamental competitiveness issues in the U.S. education, regulatory, tort, and tax systems, the new majority in Congress is bent on raising taxes and re-unionizing the economy. The next step in that agenda is a vote this week on “Card Check” legislation, S. 1041, sponsored by Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA)
