Mercury Rising? Not Really.

Amid its recent regulatory blitz on domestic energy production, the Environmental Protection Agency has launched an aggressive campaign targeting coal fire power plants through the regulation of mercury emissions.

In preparation for a busy year in 2012, the FreedomWorks Campaigns team took to the road last week for five days of Get Out the Vote (GOTV) training in Indiana. We met hundreds of great activists along the way and saw firsthand the energy and enthusiasm at work in the Hoosier state.

FreedomWorks has been spending a lot of time in Texas lately, and this Thursday, December 15th, we're launching the first-ever National Call Day for Senate candidate Ted Cruz.

FreedomWorks will be in Indiana all week from December 12th-16th, and I hope you can join our grassroots team. We'll be hosting training events to discuss national political strategy, campaigns 101 and effective organizing strategies for citizen action.

In September, the House of Representatives heeded calls from tens of thousands of grassroots activists and passed the TRAIN Act, which curbs the power of unelected EPA bureaucrats who are destroying jobs all over the country. Unfortunately, this desperately-needed legislation has stalled in the Democrat-controlled Senate.

Senator Rand Paul is trying to stand up to the EPA, and he needs OUR help.

Using the Congressional Review Act, Sen. Paul has introduced S.J. Res. 27, a 'resolution of disapproval' that would allow Congress to overturn the costly Cross State Air Pollution Rule, which is part of the EPA Train Wreck.  This costly new regulation will cost $2.4 billion annually and threatens to take 7 gigawatts of power off the power grid—enough to power 7 million homes.
