Key Vote "No" on the Energy Independence and Security Act

On behalf of our 850,000 FreedomWorks members and supporters nationwide, I write to urge you to vote “No” on the Energy Independence and Security Act now before the House. As it stands, this anti-energy bill strikes at the heart of the American economy. The Democrat-led Congress is proposing a $13 billion tax increase on energy companies, which will only increase the cost of energy for consumers.

Key Vote 'NO' on the Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation Tax Act

On behalf of the nearly 850,000 FreedomWorks members nationwide, I urge you to VOTE NO on H.R. 2776, the Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation Tax Act of 2007. This energy bill would scale back gains in domestic exploration and capacity that would impose ultimately be borne by consumers. In addition, this bill would increase oil production costs by revising section 199 of the tax code, which would eliminate funds for domestic energy production and exploration in order to provide tax breaks for alternative fuel production. These changes would saddle domestic energy suppliers with costly new taxes that will raise prices for consumers.

Fear and Loathing at Live Earth

BY Matt Kibbe

“I think that they should take a look at what their companies are doing and just ask themselves as human beings whether or not this is the way they want to spend their lives, if this is the way they want to earn a living, if this is the kind of contribution they want to make to the society in which we live.” -- Al Gore

Key Vote "NO" on Energy Cloture Votes in the Senate

This week, the Senate is debating a series of crucial cloture votes on the future of U.S. energy policy. On behalf of the more than 850,000 Freedom Works members nationwide, I urge you to vote ‘NO’ on cloture for the Senate Finance Proposal, the Reid substitute, and S. 1419. This legislation would damage efforts to secure reliable and efficient energy sources by imposing a series of tax increases that penalize domestic production while diverting resources to more costly alternative fuel sources.
