The Devil's Dictionary of Healthcare Reform

One of the strengths of the American left is their mastery of using language. They say things that mean exactly the opposite of what they sound like (such as the "Employee Free Choice Act" which means to strip the right to a private ballot in a decision about unionizing.)  And, with the help of a credulous press and often lazy electorate, they get away with it more often than not. In no area is the understanding of the difference between what the Democrats say and what they mean more important than in health care.

The real unemployment number: 17.5%

10.2%  was the unemployment rate for American workers in October of 2009.  At least, that is what we were told.  In reality, however, the percentage of Americans lacking fulltime employment was far higher.  According to a recent New York Times article:In all, more than one out of every six workers — 17.5 percent — were unemployed or underemployed in October...

25-30 thousand meet on Capitol Hill to protest health care

Earlier today, FreedomWorks joined 25-35 thousand Americans gathered at the Capitol building to protest Nancy Pelosi's (D-Cali.) proposed takeover of the American health care system.  A mere two months after the historic 9/12 Taxpayer March, grassroots activists from across the country continued the fight to make their voices heard. Ironically, the

Two House Health Care Bills

Yesterday, November 3rd, 2009, House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) introduced a 219-page Republican health care bill to be considered alongside HR 3962, the Democrat’s health care overhaul bill.  The Republican bill was submitted as an amendment intended to be a substitute for the entirety of HR 3962.  Additionally, the Manager’s Amendment, revisions to the original text of HR 3962, were released today, November 4th, 2009.  You will find links to both proposals below.

The fiscal disaster of Pelosicare

Just like the Baucus bill, the health care “reform” bill which is being pushed by Nancy Pelosi (and which she might or might not have the votes to get through the House) is nothing more than financial smoke and mirrors, a massive tax and spend program which will cost far more than Pelosi or her useful idiots at the CBO want you to believe.
