Tell Your Representative to Cosponsor H.R. 4224, the OPTION Act

Dear FreedomWorks member, As one of our million-plus FreedomWorks members nationwide, I urge you to contact your representative and ask him or her to cosponsor H.R. 4224, the Offering Patients True Individualized Options Now (OPTION) Act of 2012. Introduced by Rep. Paul Broun (R-GA), a medical doctor, the bill contains common sense reforms that would put patients in control of their health care. The OPTION Act is a clear and simple bill that would restore health care freedom.

The Bluffton Tea Party and FreedomWorks - Allies in the Fight for Freedom

Since 2009, hundreds of Tea Party groups have formed throughout the nation to lead the fight to bring back limited, constitutional government, fiscal responsibility, and free markets. FreedomWorks has been an essential voice in this movement and on March 13, 2012, FreedomWorks North Carolina Grassroots Coordinator Joyce Krawiec took a trip down to Bluffton, South Carolina to speak to the Bluffton Tea Party.

Let’s Repeal the IPAB “Death Panel”

75% of Americans believe that the ObamaCare individual mandate which requires everyone to buy health insurance is unconstitutional. However, there are equally unconstitutional provisions in the ObamaCare law that are garnering less attention. Perhaps the most dangerous of the lot is the Independent Payment Advisory Board, or IPAB.

Tell Your Representative to Cosponsor H.R. 4160, the State Health Flexibility Act

As one of our million-plus FreedomWorks members nationwide, I urge you to contact your representative and ask him or her to cosponsor H.R. 4160, the State Health Flexibility Act. Introduced by Rep. Todd Rokita (R-IN), the bill would block grant Medicaid and S-CHIP to the states. The current Medicaid system is based on top-down regulatory controls from Washington. State governments shoulder roughly half of Medicaid’s annual costs but they have virtually no say on how it is run.

Senators unveil "Tea Party Budget" plan to "stop the debt," balance the budget in 5 years

Great news! Fiscal conservatives chalked up yet another victory in their march to "stop the debt" yesterday, when three "tea party"-aligned U.S. senators unveiled S.CON.RES.39, a comprehensive balanced budget that closely resembles the grassroots-generated "Tea Party Budget."

ObamaCare: Supreme Court may postpone ruling till 2016

This morning's newspapers report an ominous development in the ObamaCare litigation, now pending in the U.S. Supreme Court: The Court posted a seemingly minor but potentially important administrative change that reminds us that it could postpone a final ruling on the constitutionality of ObamaCare until the middle of 2016!  Specifically, the high Court increased the time it will devote to hearing oral arguments on whether the mandate to purchase health insurance is a "tax" for purposes of something called the Tax Anti-Injunction Act (26 U.S.C. § 7421(a)).
