Max Baucus's errors and lies

In a Wall Street Journal op-ed yesterday, Senate Finance Committee Chairman, Max Baucus (D-MT), lays out his lies case for his version of health care “reform". The beauty of the recent turn of events/tone in the health care debate is that the public is now actually listening to the content of the Democrats’ statements, including those of Dear Leader, rather than just the mellifluous sound of his voice.

Only bipartisan part of Baucus's bill is opposition to it

Wednesday morning, Senator Max Baucus (D-MT), Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, released his proposal for health care reform (attached here).  The bill, which would cost an estimated $856 billion over the next 10 years, seems to have overcome the partisan divide that exists in Washington and brought Senators from both sides of the aisle together.  Unfortunately for Baucus and his liberal peers, the bipartisan cooperation that has emerged is not in favor of, but rather opposition to, the 223 page proposal.

Think Tanks on the Baucus Healthcare Proposal

Earlier this morning, Sen. Max Baucus (D-MT) released his vision for a healthcare reform bill (Click here for a PDF version of the bill to read yourself). In it he describes the current law as well as his proposed changes or additions. Some of the issues addressed include: a public option, taxes on the healthcare industry, individual and employer mandates, Medicare cuts, and expansion of Medicaid eligibility.

Alternative Health Care Bills

Here at FreedomWorks, we believe that it is vital to the health care debate that every idea for reform be considered by every member of Congress.  Much of the popular rhetoric being spread throughout the nation may lead the public to believe that H.R.

Liberty Summit Officially Awesome

Senator Inhofe of Oklahoma helped kick off the Liberty Summit this morning over at the D.C. Armory.  Over 1500 people turned out for a great event.  Check out the video and pictures below. One caveat, I was running around all morning and didn't have a chance to take many pictures, but pictures from real photographers and a full report will be coming soon.

Ouch! Hurricane Camille (Paglia) Strikes Democrats...Again

Although her fellow Democrats will no doubt dismiss Camille Paglia's latest diatribe regarding the sorry state of intellectual honesty on the Left, they would be wise to heed her words. Paglia offers a damning articulation of the dissatisfaction so many Americans feel toward Big Government and those that shill for it. Why has the Democratic Party become so arrogantly detached from ordinary Americans?

Supporters of Health-Care Change Prepare Counterattack

BY Kris Maher and Naftali Bendavid

The opposition to the health-care overhaul being voiced at town-hall meetings this month caught supporters by surprise. Unions and other supporters of the Democratic health program now have plans to confront opponents, including, if necessary, outshouting them at meetings.
