How Your Members of Congress Voted on the Debt Ceiling

On February 7th, the debt ceiling, which had been suspended, snapped back into place, leaving the United States saddled with $17.3 trillion in debt.  To their shame, Republican leaders in both chambers never even considered attaching meaningful spending reforms to the debt ceiling bill. Instead, much of the debate inside D.C. involved attaching measures that would have actually increased spending.

As one of our over 6 million FreedomWorks members nationwide, I urge you to contact your senators and urge them to vote NO on the Homeowner Flood Insurance Affordability Act, S. 1926. Sponsored by Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ), this bill would delay much-needed reforms to the National Flood Insurance Program and inevitably result in a taxpayer bailout of that program.

Key Vote NO on the Farm Bill Conference Report in the House

As one of our millions of FreedomWorks members nationwide, I urge you to contact your representative and ask that he or she vote NO on the Farm Bill conference report in the House, H.R. 2462.  This final agreement reached between the House and Senate actually manages to be worse than the bills passed by each chamber separately, and does nothing to contain the hundreds of billions in spending on corporate welfare for farm corporations and an out-of-control food stamp program.
