FreedomWorks Begins Citizen Education Drive

Gaston and Cleveland County, NORTH CAROLINA.   FreedomWorks kicks off its citizen education drive in North Carolina!  We began our door to door effort, informing voters about which candidates have signed our pledges to support TABOR,  property rights,  tort reform,and school choice.  We distributed over 1,000 door hangers in Gaston and Cleveland county on Monday afternoon.

North Carolina FreedomWorks Meets in Marion

Marion, North Carolina.  On April 15th, 25 FreedomWorks activists gathered for a tax and legislative update from Becki Gray with the Locke Foundation.  Becki updated the group on their tax burden in McDowell County and from the state of North Carolina.  She also stressed how property rights are constatntly under attack in North Carolina.  The latest is the state's proposal to put water meters on private wells to monitor water use.  Forced annexation was mentioned as a hot issue now in the capital.  How change was finally was in the wind.

After a battle waging more than six years, FreedomWorks members across North Carolina and our nation celebrate an amazing victory for private property rights.  On Saturday, March 29,  more than 300 NO-OLF activists spent the evening celebrating together at the Beasley Farm Shop in Plymouth, NC.  North Carolina FreedomWorks State Director Allen Page and Legislative Liaison Kathy Hartkopf were delighted to share in the festivities.

FreedomWorks North Carolina Fights Forced Annexation

On Thursday, June 14, North Carolina FreedomWorks activists concerned about forced annexation visited state senators and representatives. Activists delivered letters asking legislators to "not only support but to advocate for changing our antiquated annexation law".  The visits followed an evening hearing of the Committee on Rules of the House.  The public hearing regarded studying Municipal Annexation (House Bill 86).
