Issues: Judicial Nominations
The Issue
A minority in the Senate is wreaking havoc in our justice system by rejecting nominees. By using filibuster tactics, a super-majority of 60% is required to fill vacant seats in US Courts. The number of open seats is forcing existing judges to rush decisions. More importantly, these obstructionist senators are requiring judges to take litmus tests in order to get approved. Unfortunately, a minority in the Senate is threatening the ability of the judiciary to act as a check on government and a guarantor of individual rights.
The FreedomWorks Position
CSE is demanding a clean up-or-down vote in the full Senate on all judicial nominations.
