Online Video Coordinator

FreedomWorks, a grassroots organization that fights for lower taxes, less government and more economic freedom, is looking to hire an Online Video Coordinator.

FreedomWorks strives to use video to educate the public and bring traffic and attention to our web sites and advocacy campaigns.  The position is responsible for producing and editing video and audio for distribution online and on traditional radio and television. This person will work with campaigns teams to develop video concepts and messages.  

The Online Video Coordinator will be accountable for video projects from conception to production to delivery; will manage in-house studio assets including cameras, software, and archives; will design and arrange video shoots including studio, talent, and lighting; will oversee video shoot sequences and post production activities; and will ensure that video is prepared for use online in appropriate file formats.   The Online Video Coordinator will also, as needed, acquire video content, such as FreedomWorks news clips, for integration into web sites and YouTube; produce audio spots for use online and in radio; identify and utilize emerging technologies in the online media space; and expand FreedomWorks' profile and video traffic on YouTube, blogs, and other file-sharing sites.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
• Work or educational experience producing video content for web or television
• Demonstrated mastery of video editing software
• Has existing online portfolio
• General understanding of interactive production technologies, grassroots campaigns, and viral marketing
• Understanding of economics and commitment to limited government causes
• Graphic design abilities (page layouts, logo design, etc) a plus

Staff Writer

FreedomWorks, a grassroots organization that fights for lower taxes, less government and more economic freedom, is looking to hire a Staff Writer.

The right person will be excited about the ideas and ideal of limited government and free-market economics and he or she will have shown an ability to clearly articulate such thoughts in writing.  The Staff Writer will play a key role in communicating the policy positions of FreedomWorks and our army of hundreds of thousands of grassroots activists across the country by writing op-eds, short policy pieces, proposals, and making contributions to FreedomWorks.org and other affiliated websites.  The Staff Writer will help make our issues, ideas, and activities a central part of the national media and political debate. 

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree, economics preferred
• Demonstrable writing experience
• Interest and understanding of politics and free-market economics

Development Assistant

FreedomWorks is a non-profit grassroots organization that fights for lower taxes, less government and more economic freedom is looking for an entry-level professional to assist our fund raising department.  This a great opportunity to learn non-profit public policy fund raising techniques. Responsibilities include contribution processing and administration of hi and low dollar direct-mail program, as well as other general office administrative duties. Requires proficiency in oral and written communications; working knowledge of free market issues, computers and office practices; and strict attention to detail and organization skills. College degree preferred.
