Iowa CSE Talks About Energy with President, Cabinet Members

On July 16, 2001, grassroots activists from Iowa Citizens for a Sound Economy gathered at an event to show their support for President Bush’s energy plan. Energy Secretary Spence Abraham spoke to the crowd as part of a national effort to push for the passage of the Bush Administration’s common-sense national energy plan. CSE has been at the forefront of the energy policy debate and is the lone group to support the Bush administration in their efforts to pass meaningful energy legislation.

On May 17, 2001, CSE activists and staff had the opportunity to speak with President Bush, Energy Secretary Spencer Abraham, and EPA Director Christie Todd Whitman about the administration’s energy policy.

In appreciation for the work that CSE activists have been doing to promote his policies, Bush said “Thank you for the work that you are doing. It is very important.”
