Former House Majority Leader Dick Armey is responding to detractors who say he's a carpetbagger for getting involved in Colorado issues.

Army was in Colorado Springs yesterday to urge voters to reject Referenda C and D this November. The two measures are aimed at easing state tax and spending limits.

This was Armey's second trip to Colorado to oppose Referenda C and D.

Armey says he was invited to town by members of FreedomWorks, which he co-chairs. The group supports lower taxes, school vouchers and conservative issues and has eight-thousand members in Colorado.
