FreedomWorks, Dick Armey, Jim DeMint to Participate in Spartanburg Rally for School Choice on February 2nd

WHAT: FreedomWorks and its Chairman Dick Armey will join the Spartanburg Tea Party and local conservative activists for a school choice rally in Spartanburg’s Cleveland Park from 6:30-8:30pm ET on Thursday February 2nd. The event will kick off with a reception, followed by a series of speakers discussing the important benefits of implementing school choice, and the critical role the grassroots will play in turning those ideas into legislative change. The event will also feature a special video message from conservative Senator Jim DeMint.

FreedomWorks Joins Coalition of Grassroots Groups to Protest a Republican State Committee Endorsement in the PA Senate Race

WHAT: FreedomWorks will join a coalition of grassroots groups throughout Pennsylvania to protest any move by the Republican State Committee to endorse a candidate to challenge Senator Bob Casey, Jr. in November. The coalition will hold a press conference calling on other grassroots organizations to stand in solidarity and demand the state GOP stop making endorsements in Republican primaries.  

WHEN: The press conference will begin on January 28th at 10:30AM ET.

FreedomWorks South Carolina Launches Round Two of Statewide Grassroots Campaign to Support School Choice

WASHINGTON, DC- FreedomWorks activists across the state of South Carolina launched the second phase of an aggressive grassroots campaign today to support the recently introduced school choice bill, H. 4576. The bill proposes simple solutions to make student tuition more affordable for families, including tax credits for students attending independent schools, tax credits for non-profit scholarship grants, tax credits for students with special needs, and tax credits for classroom supplies.

Tea Party Debt Commission to Present Findings in Joint House-Senate Hearing

While super-committee fumbles, grassroots activists identify $9 trillion in budget cuts

WHAT: As the Obama “super-committee” struggles to slim down the deficit, the Tea Party Debt Commission and about 200 leading tea party activists from around the country will present their final report in a joint House-Senate hearing in the Russell Senate Office building. The “Tea Party Budget” is a plan to balance the federal budget in less than 10 years, reduce federal spending to 18 percent of GDP, reduce the national debt to no more than 66 percent of GDP, reduce federal spending by at least $9 trillion over 10 years, all without raising taxes.
