On Nov. 28, 2007, Republican Presidential Candidates are meeting in Tampa with CNN’s Anderson Cooper for a YouTube user-generated debate. The format allows anyone to submit questions for the candidates, and CNN selects a few to air during the debate.
FreedomWorks wants the limited government agenda to be a part of the debate. That’s why we conducted the FreedomWorks “Pick Dick Armey’s YouTube Flick Contest”. In the spirit of the debate, FreedomWorks members selected the question, which FreedomWorks Chairman Dick Armey is asking on behalf of all FreedomWorks members.
Over 1,200 validated FreedomWorks members chose the winning question among several different choices. You can view the voting outcomes and comments here:

The winning question, on the topic of fundamental tax reform, received 58% of the vote. The question reads:
The current tax code has over 5.5 billion words, countless forms and instructions, and is too complex for most taxpayers to comprehend. Simply put, it’s a mess. The result is a massive burden placed on both businesses and individuals come tax time every year. In 2007, for example, taxpayers spent 7 billion hours filling out tax forms for the government.
Do you agree that it is time to scrap the tax code and replace it with a new system that is simple, fair, and honest? What would your plan look like?
