FreedomWorks activists will protest President Barack Obama's scheme to “stimulate” the economy outside the President’s town hall meeting in Fort Myers, Florida on Tuesday.  While the president attempts to sell his trillion dollar debt proposal to skeptical Americans, taxpayers are gathering on the corner of Bay and Monroe Streets in downtown Fort Myers to oppose the plan.

Rallying from 8-11am, these local FreedomWorks members represent millions of angry Americans nationwide who understand that we cannot borrow and spend the economy out of its troubles.

Spending a trillion dollars today will not help the economy and will only saddle future generations with massive debt.

Florida field coordinator Tom Gaitens said, “As the nation confronts economic obstacles, the solution is not to steal the hard-earned dollars of average working Americans and waste money on spending that won’t create real wealth. The route to economic prosperity begins with fundamental tax reform and reduced regulations for businesses.”

FreedomWorks is a grassroots organization with over 500,000 members nationwide dedicated to lower taxes, less government, and more freedom.
