Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan is placing small government principles back on the offensive with the Roadmap for America’s Future (HR 6110). The objective of this proposed legislation is to take on the big issues of health care, retirement security, and fundamental tax reform.

Risky spending habits of Congress are crippling the nation with debt that will worsen over time and saddle future generations with dramatic tax hikes. If politicians continue to accept a federal government bloated with unfunded and failing programs as the status quo, American economic growth will halt and standards of living will deteriorate.

Congressman Ryan’s comprehensive plan eliminates the alternative minimum tax and provides taxpayers with the choice between filing under the current complex tax code and a simplified fairer and flatter version that can be submitted on a postcard. Ryan’s plan includes real legislation that addresses Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security through individual control and ownership.

According to the analysis of government actuaries, the "Roadmap Plan" is expected to hold federal taxes to 18.5 percent of the GDP. This will protect future generations from paying for Congresses current out of control spending.
