From Pennsylvania With Love?

On Saturday July 19, the Pennsylvania House of Representatives passed a bill that will allow for the creation of eleven slot machine casinos across the state. Some casino hopefuls in the House estimate that the slot machines will draw roughly $1 billion dollars in revenues. But is $1 billion in state expansion what Pennsylvania really needs? Of course not. Pennsylvanians are in dire need for lawmakers to propose a budget that will cut spending and prevent tax increases that will protect the taxpayers’ economic freedom.

Pennsylvania does not have a revenue problem – it has a spending problem.

The Governor has also proposed in his “Plan for a New Pennsylvania” to increase personal income tax by 34% to further expand government. The Governor wants Pennsylvanians to give larger and larger amounts of their earnings to the state – which is starting to sound an awful like the government the Russians adopted during World War One.

Pennsylvanians need to be granted more economic freedom and not see their dollars flushed away in failing programs. Serious reform is necessary now!
