Denver - On June 28th in Denver, Colorado, FreedomWorks’ Co-Chairman and former House Majority Leader, Dick Armey, will initiate a coordinated grassroots campaign against Referendum C. Dick Armey will meet with a coalition of advocacy groups, legislators, and supporters to mobilize against the “Pick Pocket Amendment.” FreedomWorks and other activists are highly motivated to defeat this attempt to deny taxpayers more than $3 billion in tax refunds, resulting in the largest tax increase in Colorado history.

The visit will set strategy and help coordinate the established on-the-ground efforts that are running from now until November 1st. The campaign will include a massive Get Out The Vote (GOTV) effort, door-to-door literature drops, grassroots rallies, and other campaign activities. The ground-game to defeat the Pick Pocket Amendment will be directed by Colorado FreedomWorks Director Beth Skinner, who lives in Denver, with support from allied groups and state leaders like John Andrews, the former President of the Colorado Senate.

There will be a press conference at 1:00 PM Mountain State Capitol Senate Committee Room 326 [NOTE: 326 is the new room.] at the Colorado State Capitol. Dick Armey will be joined by former Senate President John Andrews, Independence Institute President Jon Caldara, State Senator Shawn Mitchell, Jefferson County Treasurer Mark Paschall and other elected officials who are opposing Referendum C.

FreedomWorks and its Co-Chairman, Dick Armey, successfully engaged in similar tax hike campaigns in Alabama, Oregon, and Washington State and prevented tax increases.

Dick Armey commented on the campaign to defeat Colorado Referendum C:
