Kenn S. George Joins CSE Board of Directors

Citizens for a Sound Economy (CSE) is proud to announce that Texas businessman and political leader Kenn S. George is joining CSE’s national Board of Directors.

Rep. George is a retiring Republican State Representative twice elected to the Texas State House. Representing Dallas (District 108), Rep. George helped lead the conservative agenda in Austin to improve health care for senior citizens, lower taxes, provide local control of education, and promote a stronger business climate.

A successful CEO and business leader, Rep. George has worked for more than three decades managing budgets, growing investments and providing jobs for families across Texas. Rep. George is former President of Olix Industries, a publicly traded corporation in the oil, gas, and energy industry. He also co-founded and guided EPIC Healthcare Group, a $1.4 billion health care corporation with 37 hospitals, operations in 30 states and almost 15,000 employees. Rep. George’s business experience is especially valuable as CSE is a growing nation-wide grassroots operation.

Further, Rep. George brings high-level Washington policy experience to the CSE Board, having served in the Reagan Administration as Assistant Secretary of Commerce and Director General of the U. S. and Foreign Commercial Services. Additionally, Rep. George is a former airborne officer with the Texas National Guard, a graduate of Washington & Lee University, and holds an MBA from The University of Texas in Austin.

Paul Beckner commented: “We’re very excited to have the support and guidance of someone with Kenn George’s experience and passion. We share a life-long commitment to making America better through free markets and lower taxes. Rep. George understands the importance of grassroots activism, and we look forward to working with him to support public policy changes that are good for the country.”

“Since my days pushing handcards for Barry Goldwater, I have believed in the importance of citizen activism. No organization understands it better than CSE and I am proud to be serving on the CSE Board of Directors,” George said.

Texas CSE Director Peggy Venable said, “Kenn’s experience both in the legislature and in business will be valuable to us as we provide the fiscal conservative a voice in public policymaking both in Washington, D.C. and in Texas.”
