North Carolina Radio Ads Educate State Voters on FreedomWorks/CSE Tax Pledge
Dick Armey radio ads hit North Carolina airwaves.
KERNERSVILLE, NC. CSE members have a message to the state legislators who voted to raise taxes by $1 billion dollars: “We Won’t Forget.”
That’s why CSE is running a voter education campaign across North Carolina to let voters know which officials kept their word and which officials broke their pledge and voted to raise taxes. The campaign includes radio advertisements, auto-dial telephone calls, and broad grassroots action.
The bottom line: CSE members won’t forget the politicians who say one thing during campaign season and vote another way in office.
A typical radio ad from FreedomWorks Chairman Dick Armey reads as follows:
"As former House majority leader, I spent my entire career in Congress fighting against those that insisted on raising the taxes of hard-working Americans. Today I‘m continuing that work as Chairman of Citizens for a Sound Economy, a grassroots group dedicated to lower taxes, less government, and more freedom. In North Carolina, we ask ALL candidates for the state legislature to sign a “no-taxes” pledge, and then we check up to see who’s as good as their word and who isn’t."
"I‘m proud to report that State Representative FRANK MITCHELL has KEPT his word not to raise taxes. But his opponent in the July 20 primary, Representative Julia Howard -- now that’s another matter. I’m sad to report that Julia Howard HAS voted for more taxes, despite her written pledge PROMISING she WOULDN’T."
"As a true conservative, I trust Representative Frank Mitchell to KEEP his word to the people of North Carolina, and NOT vote for a tax increase."
