Stop Efforts in Maryland to Regulate the Internet!
The Internet socialists are at it again, seeking to convince the state legislature in Maryland to take control of Internet pricing. This idea, so-called "net neutrality" mandates, would not allow Internet service companies to charge different prices for different levels of bandwidth. This is like the government telling a grocery store owner that he can't charge different prices for different brands. This policy is misguided and clearly outside the scope of the government's role. Net neutrality is in the tradition of the Kelo decision eviscerating private property rights in favor of "takings" by the government.
We will need the help of thousands of citizens like you to contact your legislators and tell them to keep the Internet free of anti-liberty regulators who are sponsoring this bad legislation, known in Maryland as HB 1069. Far from keeping the Internet neutral, this legislation would impose strict regulations on service providers that would prevent consumers from enjoying cutting-edge technologies.
Contact your elected officials and urge them to oppose HB 1069 and any other attempts in Annapolis to regulate the Internet.

Net neutrality, shrouded in a populist cry for freedom, is the first step toward greater government control over the Internet that, ironically, would limit consumer access. Regulating the pipes could chase away investors otherwise willing to build the networks of the future.
