Support Budget Transparency in Wisconsin
The first step toward smaller government is an accountable government. Wisconsin legislators Robin Vos, Bill Kramer, and Senator Bob Wirch are proposing a searchable database and website of all state expenditures over $100. This kind of transparency in government helps the public hold their government responsible for the way their money is being spent.
Similar budget transparency projects have been met with great success in other states and even the federal government, giving individual citizens with average computer skills the ability to learn how the government is spending their money
Exposing state government programs, vendors, and contracts to the light of public scrutiny allows everyone to be a fiscal watchdog and demand answers for the government’s actions.
TAKE ACTION and tell your leaders that Wisconsin needs government transparency – Wisconsin needs the Government Checkbook Disclosure Act.
Sincerely,
