CSE Launches 2004 "Freedom Agenda" Candidate Survey

Survey Measures Candidates' Positions on the Tenets of CSE's Freedom Agenda

This week, Citizens for a Sound Economy (CSE) is launching the "Freedom Agenda Survey" which is designed to put candidates on record as to where they stand on the five tenets of CSE's "Freedom Agenda." The survey is being sent to candidates for President, U.S. Senate, and the House of Representatives on behalf of the more than 300,000 members of CSE. Candidates' answers will be reported to CSE members and media in their home state.

The "Freedom Agenda" represents CSE's priorities and goals in the fight for more personal freedom and a more prosperous America:

Social Security reform to include Personal Retirement Accounts (PRAs) Tax Reform to make the tax code fairer, flatter, and simpler Tort Reform to end lawsuit abuse Welfare Reform to include strengthening work and job training requirements School Choice to expand parental control over their children's education

CSE Chairman, former House Majority Leader Dick Armey, says this election is one of the most important in our nation's history and it will determine the course of our country for a generation to come. Armey made the following comments:

"The 'Freedom Agenda' is based on Armey's ultimate axiom: Freedom Works. This election is about a clear choice. We can take this nation down the road of more government control over our money, personal rights, and our future or we can take it down the road of more personal control and freedom. It is vital that we elect candidates who will choose the path of freedom and personal liberty.

"This survey will tell which side a candidate is on. Our members will support those candidates who demonstrate a strong commitment to the cause of freedom and personal liberty."

The surveys are being sent to presidential candidates first to coincide with the beginning of primary season. Survey results can be found at www.cse.org as they are received.
