KEY VOTE "NO" ON H.R. 3962: AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE FOR AMERICA ACT
Dear Representative:
On behalf of hundreds of thousands of FreedomWorks members nationwide, I urge you to VOTE NO on H.R. 3962, the “Affordable Health Care for America Act" and the fundamental alteration of the American way of life that will accompany it. Over the past year, the American people have turned out in overwhelming numbers to express their opposition to the ideas incorporated in Speaker Pelosi’s (D-Cali.) bill. From April 15th tea parties to summer town hall meetings to the massive 9/12 Taxpayer March on Washington to yesterday’s rally at the Capitol, citizens have shown time and time again that they will not stand for this government intrusion into their lives. Speaker Pelosi has said she is willing to lose Democrat seats in 2010 by forcing moderates to vote for this outrageously unpopular bill. We will do everything we can to make sure your vote is well known in your district.
With skyrocketing unemployment rates and the national deficit reaching levels previously unimaginable, Americans deserve common sense solutions that lower costs without piling debt onto future generations. Unfortunately, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates that in order to fund Speaker Pelosi’s health care reform bill, the federal government would have to spend $1.05 trillion over the next ten years. Historically, such attempts to estimate the price of government programs have fallen woefully short of the actual cost of legislation. For example, in 1967 House Ways and Means analysts estimated Medicare would cost $12 billion in 1990. They were wrong—by a staggering factor of 10. The actual spending in 1990 was $110 billion. Are you about to vote on a $10 trillion bill?
To pay for this colossal reform bill, this legislation saddles hundreds of billions of dollars in new taxes upon the American people and includes major cuts in Medicare for seniors. Analysis of the bill reveals thirteen new taxes that will be paid by Americans either directly in the form of income and excise taxes or indirectly in the form of higher premiums, more expensive medical equipment and lower wages. It also reveals over $500 billion in cuts to Medicare including over $150 billion in cuts from the popular Medicare Advantage plan which one out of every five senior citizens uses to get more benefits than traditional Medicare offers.
Worse still, the bill includes a federal mandate on health insurance which would dramatically alter the relationship between the government and individuals. Under such a mandate, citizens will be forced to purchase insurance simply because they exist. Granting Congress the authority to mandate the purchase of any product abandons all limitations placed upon federal power. A mandate on insurance will fundamentally change our great nation. America will cease to be a country made up of free people who choose their own destiny and will become a country in which the government controls the destiny of individuals. This takes us down the road to serfdom. Such a shift is unacceptable, unconscionable and a complete perversion of the liberties our founders fought and died to protect.
We will at least DOUBLE WEIGHT your vote on H.R. 3962 as a KEY VOTE when calculating the FreedomWorks Economic Freedom Scorecard for 2009. The Economic Freedom Scorecard is used to determine eligibility for the Jefferson Award, which recognizes members of Congress with voting records that support economic freedom.
Sincerely,
Matt Kibbe
President and CEO

1. WE NEED ONLY 1(one) DEDUCTIBLE, AND then 100% COVERAGE THEREAFTER.TO $1,000,000.
NO EXCEPTIONS. NO CHANGES. NO CONDITIONS. NO EXCLUSIONS.
2. THIS PLAN CAN BE OFFERED TO ALL AMERICANS BY THOUSANDS OF INSURANCE COMPANIES AND KEEP INDUSTRY COMPETITION IN THE MARKETPLACE
3. THIS PLAN MUST BE OFFERED TO ALL PEOPLE, PRIVATE AND PUBLIC SECTOR EMPLOYEES, AND IT MUST BE GUARANTEED ISSUE TO COVER THOSE THAT ARE CURRENTLY EXCLUDED BECAUSE OF PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS..
4. THERE MUST BE A POLICY ASSESSMENT TO EVERY CONTRACT TO COVER THOSE PEOPLE THAT ARE CURRENTLY NOT COVERED BECAUSE OF A PRE-EXISTING CONDITION.
5. THERE MUST BE A NATIONAL MEDICAL RECOMMENDED PAYMENTS BOARD, MADE UP OF DOCTORS,HOSPITAL AND INSURANCE COMPANY CFO'S, ACTUARIES, CHIROPRACTORS,NURSES,DENTISTS, PT'S, AND THE PUBLIC TO DEVELOP REASONABLE AND CUSTOMARY CHARGES FOR ALL MEDICAL PRACTICES. (right now there is a "low payment schedule" for Medicare/Medicaid and another "high one" for the private sector insurance companies)
6. THERE MUST BE SOME LIMITATIONS ON MEDICAL MALPRACTICE CLAIMS.
The current house bill takes up 1.990 pages....why? -here is the simple solution in 6 easy steps and sentances.!!!!!!

This petition respectfully requests that President Obama keep true to his word and veto HR 3962 should it cross his desk. The president stated that he "will not sign a bill that raises the deficit". HR 3962 does raises the deficit. Signing this petition indicates strong opposition to HR 3962. Demand that the president keep his word. Sign here:

I for one, will NOT give up. I will continue my fight and contact EVERY Senator and urge them to vote AGAINST this monstrosity of a bill that just passed the house. That was in no way a huge win by the numbers but still a win for liberals. A great LOSS for the rest of the country does not matter to those who voted for this. KEEP UP THE PRESSURE IN THE SENATE. SOME of those Senators may want keep their jobs, as there are very few jobs LEFT out there! THE REAL WAR STARTS TOMORROW! PITCHFORKS ( phones and e-mails, to be clear) READY ALL? :) LET'S KILL THIS BILL ONCE AND FOR ALL. :)

This is a Sad and Somber day for what used to be the United States of America
I just saw on CSPAN that the house voted 220-215 in favor of this bill that
"for me" puts the ultimate and definitive beginning of the End of America. I now find myself, a 20 year veteran of the Military, a man in search of his country. America is no more...the Word is meaningless. I am a Patriot in search of the country I was and am ready to fight for. I just don't know where it went? Or where I might find it? These people that call themselves Democrats, I won't give them the honor or respect to call them that. These people don't follow the democratic process, don't recognize the constitution, i don't know how or even why they were allowed to penetrate and get themselves in such powerfull positions to destroy what used to be America like a cancer from the inside. Well they are there, they have voted (as if voteing even matters anymore) Democracy is no more! It's gone! Dead!
Socialism has gotten it's majority rule in what used to be our Nation's Capital !
Now what do we do?
We have thousands of Citizen Soldiers basically Abandoned my their Commander in Chief while fighting on foreign soldier. This so called leader has left our soldiers over there to fight and die without the full support they need to survive much less succeed.
We have hundreds of thousands of Americans here on US soil, shouting, yelling, calling, writing, protesting and being completely ignored. These people that voted in favor of this Pelosi Bill have a socialist agenda and a strong hold with-in what used to be OUR government and it goes all the way to the TOP.
Congradulations Voting Majority of America, you voted our FREEDOM AWAY
This Place we are now living in is no longer the US of A.
It's just the SOCIALIST STATES
No more, AMERICA
Nothing United
WE ARE NOTHING

Naturecamper, I feel your pain. I too have fought all of my life for this country and I'll be damned if I'm going to let a bunch of liberals take it from me. Now is the time to unite and begin the process to remove these people once and for all. Things must change for us to keep our country beginning with congressional and senatorial term limits. Don't look for somewhere else to go. We used to say this was the greatest country ever but we can still say it is the greatest opportunity to return to the type of country we once had. Keep the faith, become active in a local organization, and start communicating and preparing others to remove from office, every one of these traitors who voted for this socialist bill.

Thanks RMONESMITH,
I know my post sounded rather negative, guess I was venting mostly.

Karinkdf82, you just don't get it do you. Move past the idea that you are going to be "given" something and consider that this bill moves the United States way past the idea of dealing with the insurance companies, and puts our country on the path of socialism. There were many many other options out there to deal with the insurance companies and I believe most people in this country dislike them but this is not the way to address the issue. I'll tell you what, if this bill makes it past all the mounting legal challenges and actually becomes something, remember your zeal when you are elderly, sick, and YOUR Government tells you that a necessary procedure is too expensive and the cost/benefit ratio is not in the best interest of THEIR perspective. Then, you may "get it" By the way, the MAJORITY of American citizens DID NOT want this.
