Bottom line on the flat tax: It is still a tax on earnings which was not the hope and vision of our founders.

I consider the Fair Tax the best alternatiave to the Income Tax. The Constitution must be amended to repeal the amendment that established the IRS and authorized the Income Tax. The other proposals do not require that so the Income Tax could come back without discontinuing the other proposals.

The FairTax is what we need, not just another tweaking of the income tax code which a Flat Tax would be. We need to stop taxing income and production, and tax spending.

The Fair Tax abolishes the IRS in 3 years and terminates itself if the Sixteenth Amendment is not repealed within 7 years. No IRS and no Income Tax ever again.
