Californians Should Defeat Prop 1A Tax Hike!

On tax day hundreds of protests swept the country, as Americans sent a message that government spending is out of control and higher taxes during a recession is a terrible idea. In Sacramento, the protest brought thousands of people to the steps of the state capitol, and targeted politicians of both major political parties. Organizers and attendees sounded a common theme: "We don't care which party is in power. We just don't want them to raise our taxes or increase state spending."

Tomorrow - Vote NO on Measure D

Voters in Pasadena are probably thinking about the contentious presidential race when they go to the polls tomorrow.  It would be very easy to overlook a new tax hike scheme buried down the ballot.  But just because big things are going on across the country, we can’t forget the threats to our freedoms in our own backyards.

FreedomWorks Launches New Committee to Oppose Wireless Communication Tax Scheme in Pasadena

The Committee to Stop Measure D, Sponsored by FreedomWorks Inc. will combat plan to raise taxes on communications products.

The politicians and special interest groups that feed off of government largess in Pasadena want to tax the communications products that consumers have come to depend on like mobile phones, wireless text messaging, and possibly even the internet. These types of communications were not previously taxable, which is why the tax-hungry politicians want to find new ways to grab money from taxpayers’ wallets.

Voters in Pasadena have an opportunity to defeat a new tax hike scheme on the ballot on February 5th. This proposal, called Measure D, is bad for taxpayers and consumers in Pasadena.

The politicians in Pasadena want to tax the communications products you have come to depend on like text messaging and the internet. These types of communications were not previously taxable, which is why the tax-hungry politicians want to find new ways to grab money from your wallet.

Defeat Socialized Medicine Scheme in California!

Liberal Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez is pushing California off a cliff on the question of health care. He and his liberal buddies in the California legislature are attempting to pass a socialized health care scheme funded by billions of dollars in new taxes on businesses and individuals. We need your help to encourage conservatives in the legislature and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to stop this nightmare from becoming a reality.

Prop. 86 a Tax-the-Poor Scheme California Focus

Hospital industry singles out smokers to enrich itself.

If passed by the California electorate Nov. 7, Proposition 86 would almost quadruple the current tax on cigarettes to $3.47 a pack and would stand as perhaps the most ill-conceived tax increase of all time, although, to be fair, there's a lot of competition for that distinction.

The "Tobacco Tax Act of 2006" is a creation of California's hospital industry, which wrote the initiative in such a way that it will receive about 40 percent of the $2.1 billion a year the higher tax is expected to generate. Whether that figure is realistic is a point we will get to a little later.
