State Chapter: Georgia

Welcome to FreedomWorks Georgia!

Our mission is to turn ideas and policies into action. Those ideas can never succeed unless ordinary citizens are willing to stand up and fight for them...

Our goal is to help ordinary citizens play a greater role in the government decisionmaking process, letting no cause involving their own rights and freedoms be lost by default.

Let's work together to fight for less government, lower taxes and more freedom in Georgia!

Join Georgia FreedomWorks, where our members are creating a strong grassroots presence across the entire state. Help us win the fight!

FreedomWorks Georgia volunteer leader Debbie Dooley led a tax revolt in Gwinnet County, Georgia -- defeating a 30% mileage rate increase on property taxes being considered by county commissioners. FreedomWorks activist Julianne Thompson assisted Debbie in organizing the protest.

FreedomWorks activists flooded the county commissioners with phone calls and emails against the tax hike plan. The effort culminated in a 300 person-strong protest at Suwanee Town Center Ampitheatre in Gwinnett County on Monday. The county commissioners unanimously voted against the tax plan earlier today.

State News

Close to 300 Gwinnett County residents gathered at Suwanee Town Center Park on Monday evening to increase pressure on the County Commission to balance its budget without raising property taxes.

The rally, sponsored by FreedomWorks and Atlanta Tea Party Patriots, featured an array of state and local officials, including state Insurance Commissioner John Oxendine, Rep. Melvin Everson (R-Snellville) and Secretary of State Karen Handel.

“Real Republicans cut spending at all levels,” said County Commissioner Mike Beaudreau, who has already spoken out against the proposal.
