Oppose the Save the Internet Act, H.R. 1644 and S. 682

On behalf of our activist community, I urge you to contact your representative and senators and ask them to oppose the Save the Internet Act, H.R. 1644 and S. 682. Introduced by Mike Doyle (D-Pa.) and Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.), the Save the Internet Act would repeal the Trump administration’s Restoring Internet Freedom Order and re-implement big government Title II regulations.

Support the Energy Sovereignty Act, H.R. 1584

On behalf of our activist community, I urge you to contact your representative and ask him or her to support the Energy Sovereignty Act, H.R. 1584. Introduced by Rep. Scott Perry (R-Pa.) the Energy Sovereignty Act would ensure that unelected bureaucrats at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) cannot bypass the will of your elected representatives in Congress.

House Democrats' Medicare for All Proposal Eliminates Private Health Insurance and Will Require Massive Tax Increases

This week, Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) introduced the Medicare for All Act, H.R. 1384. The bill would completely eliminate private health insurance and expand vastly expand Medicare to every American. This proposal would, given all of the medical services would capture, quite literally be a complete government takeover of health insurance. Put simply, if you’re one of the more than 156 million Americans who has a private health insurance plan, you won’t be allowed to have that plan after two years and you will pay more in taxes, regardless of your income level, should this bill become law.

Support the Resolution Recognizing the National Debt as a Threat to National Security, H.Res. 149 and S.Res. 78

On behalf of our activist community, I urge you to contact your representative and senators and ask them to cosponsor the resolution recognizing the national debt as a threat to national security, H.Res. 149 and S.Res. 78. Introduced by Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) and Sen. David Perdue (R-Ga.), the resolution offers inconvenient facts about the national debt, the unchecked growth of which will cause severe national security and economic problems for the United States.

Coalition Letter in Opposition to H.R. 1

On Wednesday, FreedomWorks sent a coalition letter to Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), House Minority Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), Senate Majority Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) signed by representatives from more than 30 organizations against H.R. 1. This legislation would have the effect of nationalizing elections, make the Federal Elections Commission a partisan entity, and have a chilling effect on political speech. Signers to the letter include Adam Brandon of FreedomWorks, Grover Norquist of Americans for Tax Reform, Pete Sepp of the National Taxpayers Union, Tim Chapman of Heritage Action, and David McIntosh of the Club for Growth. The text of the letter is below and a PDF of the letter and the signers can be found here.

Key Vote NO on the Consolidated Appropriations Act, Conference Report to H.J.Res. 31

On behalf of our activist community, I urge you to contact your senators and representative and ask them to vote NO on the Consolidated Appropriations Act, Conference Report to H.J.Res. 31. The text of the 1,169-page bill, which contains funding for the remaining seven appropriations bills that Congress has thus far failed to pass for Fiscal Year 2018, was released overnight. It spends profligately as Congress recklessly attempts to cover for itself being nearly six months late on doing its job.
