Dems Credibility Gap

Repeated failure can have the tendency to dampen the spirit and one's ego adjusts accordingly.  Conversely, a defiant Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid declared, “For the sake of our economy, it’s time for mainstream Republicans to stand up to the Tea Party and rejoin Democrats at the table to negotiate a responsible solution that cuts spending while protecting jobs.”

Detached from Reality

By 2020, public debt in the United States is set to reach 90 percent of GDP, a line that many economists demarcate as when accumulated debt pushes an economy to the precipice of fiscal demise.  Entitlement spending remains on autopilot and some federal agencies, with “stimulus” money included, have received 180 percent increases in spending.

Climate Change Debate Continues

There are some high minded idealists who have fundamentally believed that human reason can be used to immediately and deliberately contrive a solution to any problem, no matter the magnitude.  Modern liberalism, with its roots in the French rationalist school of thought, believes that there are no potential errors or limits to human reason.  Even the most impossible task of unilaterally altering the world’s climate is possible. These propositions represent the indefatigable spirit of hubris and ignorance.
