See How Your Representative Voted on the Amash Amendment

Tonight the House voted on Justin Amash's amendment to the Defense Appropriations bill. The amendment would simply have required that the NSA's surveillance and collection of digital metadata only be conducted upon people who are directly under investigation.

Big Brother’s Watching: The NSA's Misapplication of the Precautionary Principle

Benjamin Franklin once said "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." Franklin was describing what is known as the ‘precautionary principle.’ This is a principle while good has been twisted by government in the name of safety.

The Supreme Court Rules on DNA Collection

This is still America, right? We still have a Constitution and a Bill of Rights, correct? Lately, it sure doesn’t seem like it. It seems like we are constantly hearing new stories of our rights being under attack here in America. This week, it’s the Fourth Amendment which is being systematically destroyed.

Who's Reading Your Email?

It's been a rough day so the boss lets you head home early. As you near your house, you see an unmarked van idling in your driveway. You park on the street and carefully open your front door to find a team of government agents digging through your bookcases, file drawers and medicine cabinets. Mail is scattered everywhere.“Who are you and what are you doing?” you ask.“Oh… you weren’t supposed to know about this,” the bureaucrat replies. “You never interrupted us before. Get off work early?”“But what are you looking for?”
