The Wall Street Journal's Jonathan Weisman looks at Mitt Romney's implementation of carbon caps in Massachusetts. As the headline notes, this policy could add to the other reasons that conservatives have questions about Mitt Romney's record as governor of Massachusetts.

    As a world superpower, America consumes vast quantities of energy. We heat our homes in winter, fuel our cars, and power our businesses. President Obama’s energy policy is costing Americans; gas prices continue to rise and American jobs are disappearing.

There are some high minded idealists who have fundamentally believed that human reason can be used to immediately and deliberately contrive a solution to any problem, no matter the magnitude.  Modern liberalism, with its roots in the French rationalist school of thought, believes that there are no potential errors or limits to human reason.  Even the most impossible task of unilaterally altering the world’s climate is possible.

These propositions represent the indefatigable spirit of hubris and ignorance.
