Legislative candidates to join in announcing 2000 Florida CSE Civil Justice Reform pledges

Florida Citizens for a Sound Economy Director Slade O’Brien will announce tomorrow the names of Orlando area Florida House and Senate candidates who have signed the 2000 Florida CSE Civil Justice Reform Pledge.

Joining O’Brien will be House Rep. Allen Trovillion (Dist. 36); House Rep. Fred Brummer (Dist. 38); Larry Strickler, candidate for House Rep. (Dist. 37); and Jim Kallinger candidate for House Rep. (Dist. 35). Other legislative candidates have been invited and may may join Florida CSE for this announcement.

To date, 155 Florida House and Senate candidates have signed CSE’s pledge and are committed to returning fairness and responsibility to Florida’s civil justice system. O’Brien will announce those candidates in Orange, Osceola, Seminole and Lake Counties who have signed the pledge.

The press conference will take place at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 30, at the Orange County Courthouse, 425 N. Orange Ave., in Orlando.

O’Brien will release data from a new CSE Foundation Texas study showing that tort reform saves Texas consumers money. O’Brien will discuss how tort reform would save Florida consumers as it has in Texas.
